Teflon EcoShield

As part of our continual commitment to adopt more sustainable production methods, we have phased out our previous finish and developed a new environmentally friendly finish formulation for our performance fabric offerings. EcoShield is renewably sourced and is up to three times more durable than other water repellent finishes. As a bio-based solution, its production leaves a smaller environmental footprint and is bluesign® approved. Tempotest® fabrics finished with EcoShield are oil cleanable and offer the same superior water repellency, UV resistance and workability that has become synonymous with the Tempotest® brand.

PFAS Statement

Confidence in Textiles

This has been the motto of the independent test institutes of the International Oeko-Tex Association since 1992. Products of all types that are tested for harmful substances and found to pose no risk whatsoever to health are given the Oeko-TexStandard 100 certificate of approval. Tempotest fabrics continually receive this designation.

Pattern Selection Factors

Solar Heat Protection
Solar Heat Protection

Indicates the % of solar heat & infrared rays that a fabric will reflect and absorb. All the fabrics in the Tempotest Collection offer at least 74% solar heat protection.

Darker patterns typically offer better heat protection. If maximizing the decrease in temperature under the awning is a priority, pick relatively dark tones. Dark colored fabrics absorb more heat than light colored fabrics, so if the specific application does not allow for proper headroom, than a lighter fabric will actually 'feel' cooler as you get closer to the fabric.

Solar Light Protection
Solar Light Protection

Indicates the % of solar light a fabric will reflect and absorb.

Darker patterns typically minimize sun glare the most while lighter fabrics will keep the area under the awning brighter.

Protection from U.V. Rays
Protection from U.V. Rays

The UV Protection Factor (UPF) measures how much UV rays pass through the fabric.

Darker patterns typically provide more protection against UV rays.

Incident Energy

Ratio between the total solar energy transmitted into a room through a solar protection device/window system and the incident solar energy. A measurement of energy, usually heat, striking a surface. If you were sitting near a campfire, the warmth you would feel would come from the radiant heat of the fire, and it could be measured in terms of incident energy.
